About me
For the sake of completeness, here are a few basic facts:
- As a child and teenager, I received a classical foundation in violin; I first completed a master’s degree program in musicology, music education, and sociology in Giessen, graduating with a Magistra Artium degree. I then studied jazz violin (Brussels, BE) and completed teacher training (Ghent, BE, graduating with the 2nd State Examination in Music).
- For over 20 years, I have been teaching violin and practical music theory, both privately and at various music schools in Germany and Belgium, offering individual and group lessons as well as courses in Klezmer music and jazz.
- I have also been performing professionally on stage with my violin for about 20 years.
- I gained stage and studio experience through various band projects.
- Since 2007, I have been exploring Klezmer music and other Eastern European musical traditions, as well as free and harmonic improvisation, and I remain utterly enthusiastic and fascinated by the violin’s vast range of expression and tonal possibilities.
